I have polygon windows that are square on the bottom and angled on the top, following the pitch of the roof. I need to make curtains for these that are 1.5 to 2 times wider than the window. I cannot hang curtains straight across as there is not enough room above the windows.
If I cut the fabric along the angle of the window, one side of the curtains will either be much too long, or much too short.

I don’t want to spend a lot on getting custom blinds. I am actually thinking that standard slat ones will be fine. Maybe wooden colored for the bedrooms and white for the kitchen and office. And a standard verticle set for the sliding glass doors. Should I just go to Home Depot? What about the sites on the web that are “discount” suppliers? Also, since I just want it simple, would it be a waste of time getting one of the free consultants to come to the condo to look at it all? I have gotten a mailing from one and I also saw them on the web. Do they actually have good ideas?
Anyone have any success stories on this…?

I recently bought a house and we love it. The house had some old vertical blinds covering a glass sliding door that faces west. Now, I removed them and the setting sun provides what I believe is the hottest living room in the world. Now, I want to by some of those thermal drapes (the ones that keep the room cold if in the summer and hot in the winter) but I don’t know any websites that sell good, quality drapes.
Thank you for all of your attention and answers!
